Clarity Chiropractic Neurology (CCN) is a functional neurology clinic that specializes in treating complicated neurological conditions using receptor-based therapies including visual, vestibular and proprioceptive exercises. Traditional chiropractic patients with chronic and acute aches and pains are also seen utilizing chiropractic manipulation, soft tissue therapies and physical exercise prescription in tandem with functional neurology principles.
Dr. Cat Maddox graduated Summa cum Laude from the University of Western States, where she was honored to be class speaker. She was presented with the Dean’s Scholarship in her first year based on her high academic achievements. While earning her Doctorate in Chiropractic Medicine, she also began her post-doctoral studies in functional neurology both via The Carrick Institute and the International Association of Functional Neurology and Rehabilitation (IAFNR). Prior to attending chiropractic school, Dr. Cat was the rehabilitation coordinator in a chiropractic neurology clinic for 3.5 years. It was here she saw a need for more functional neurology practitioners to work with complicated cases such as post-concussion syndrome, unremitting vertigo, dysautonomias and sensory processing disorders.
Dr. Cat is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and spent 10 years working as a personal trainer and Pilates instructor helping clients move with more ease and less pain. She started her own successful company, Organic Health and Fitness, in New York City working with clientele in the privacy of their own homes. When she moved out to Oregon with her husband, she was hired by OHSU to develop a class; she named it SPF: Strength, Power and Flexibility and they have continued her class format for years. Bringing together her past experience with newfound knowledge, Dr. Cat uses a combination of chiropractic care, neurological rehabilitation, exercise prescription and functional medicine principles to bring a well-rounded approach to patient care. In her spare time Dr. Cat loves to kayak and hike with her husband, raise backyard chickens, garden and cook gluten-free meals.
